I am Simone McLetchie, and this is my blog. A space for reading, learning, exploring, and honesty. I hope you enjoy!

Our
Values

From a young age, I have always found myself lost in the pages of novels. I was fascinated that there were entire worlds bound between thoughtful covers and crafted by unique minds. Literacy is declining, and reading must prevail.

Reading

Writing papers is my favorite part of school. In college, I’ve found that my creative writing skills are ebbing away, slipping out of my reach. I figured, if reading should prevail, I might as well write a little on the side. Academic papers only get us so far.

Writing

I've learned many wonderful words, yet I struggle to use them. While learning is often straightforward, I believe there are subtle ways to expand our knowledge. We don't always need a complete understanding; sometimes, just thinking about words is enough. Much of my life has been shaped by my focus on specific words. I find that they slap be across the face and linger in my mind’s eye. Words are a key part of who I am. I hope, together, we can use the words we learn and push our minds a little further.

Learning

Everything is serious, and everything is depressing, and the person I voted for president is not the president. I have lots of things to say. Some of it is serious and depressing, some of it is fun and lighthearted. When I thought of this idea, an online journal-style blog, I wrote this in my notebook: “Maybe it will just be about college, or growing up, or being across the country from home and missing my dog” (Feb 17th, 2026).
